Walk-in vaccination for kids across the country

PETALING JAYA: The national immunisation programme for children (PICKids) is expanding its walk-ins to 412 vaccination centres across the country in light of the school holidays.

Walk-in vaccinations for PICKids were previously limited to four PPVs in the Klang Valley.

“During these school holidays, parents who do not have vaccination appointments for their children aged five to 12 are encouraged to bring them to the nearest PPVs for walk-in vaccinations,” deputy health minister Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali said in a statement today.

The programme, which has been ongoing since Feb 3, has successfully administered the first dose of Covid-19 vaccines to 904,368 (25.5%) children in the age bracket so far.

PICKids is aiming to vaccinate 3.6 million children aged five to 12 ahead of the new school year and to make sure that the risk of infection is minimised as well as to prevent clusters and cases among school staff. — Free Malaysia Today
