PETALING JAYA: PAS is considering using a “new logo” in the next general election (GE15), though the matter has yet to be finalised, says its president Abdul Hadi Awang.
The Marang MP said the party needed to contest under a “suitable” banner in GE15, but did not explicitly refer to the PAS emblem or Perikatan Nasional logo.
“It is still being discussed,” he said in a press conference streamed on his Facebook page.
Last week, PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin claimed that Hadi had agreed to use the coalition’s logo in GE15, saying the PAS leadership “can confirm this”.
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man later played it down, saying the Islamic party had not made a decision on which logo its candidates would be using in GE15.
Tuan Ibrahim said the use of the PN logo was just a suggestion by several quarters, but the matter had not been finalised by the party. — Free Malaysia Today
