Teen mum on trial for baby’s murder in fresh bid for bail

PETALING JAYA: A teenager accused of murdering her son earlier this month is seeking bail pending the disposal of her trial.

On Feb 15, the teenager, who is being represented by lawyer Sangeet Kaur Deo, was denied bail by the Kemaman magistrates’ court.

The girl, 15, was charged with murdering her newborn baby on Feb 8 at a house in Seri Bandi, Kemaman, Terengganu.

“We have filed a revision of the decision. This will be heard by the Kuala Terengganu High Court on March 3,” Sangeet said in a statement today.

The teenager, a rape victim, was previously remanded by police to facilitate investigations into the death of her newborn baby. — Free Malaysia Today
