Rafizi positive on BN-PH ties in Negeri Sembilan

PETALING JAYA: Talks on cooperation between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) for the Negeri Sembilan state election are expected to go on smoothly as there are no major issues to resolve, says PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli.

The discussion will include seat negotiations, Utusan Malaysia reported.

“The election performance of the PH and BN component parties is consistent, so there wouldn’t be any issues over which coalition could achieve a ‘bigger’ win.

“I don’t foresee any issues with finalising and refining electoral cooperation in the state. Furthermore, there are not many seat overlaps in the state,” he said after attending the Negeri Sembilan PKR election convention in Seremban last night.

Also present at the convention was PKR vice-president and Negeri Sembilan PKR chief Aminuddin Harun.

Six states – Penang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu – will hold their state elections this year.

Rafizi, who is also the PKR election director, said the presence of Aminuddin and BN deputy chairman Mohamad Hasan would make the process easier as both were leaders well known for their loyalty to their respective parties.

Yesterday, Aminuddin, who is also the menteri besar, said the state legislative assembly is expected to be dissolved in May to make way for the state election.

PH won 20 out of the 36 state seats in the 14th general election in 2018. The remaining 16 seats were won by BN. — Free Malaysia Today
