PETALING JAYA – Nik Omar Nik Abdul Aziz, son of former Kelantan menteri besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, will represent PKR in Perak in the 15th general election (GE15).
Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that Public Service Department deputy director-general (operations) Datuk Zainal Azman Abu Seman will also run for a seat in Perak.
He added that academician Datuk Hassan Basri Awang Mat Dahan will represent the coalition in Pahang, while parasitologist and spina bifida patient rights advocate Dr Noraishah Mydin Abd Aziz will be placed in the Federal Territories.
“They will be running under the PKR ticket,” he said in a press conference here.
Nik Omar also ran under the PKR ticket in 2018 when he contested in Kelantan’s Chempaka state seat.
However, he lost the three-cornered fight to PAS’ Ahmad Fathan Mahmood, who won Chempaka with 10,549 votes, and Barisan Nasional’s Mohd Fareez Nor Amran (7,075 votes). – The Vibes
