PETALING JAYA: There was no foul play involved in the death of a 37-year-old man at a police lock-up in Kota Bahru, Kelantan, police say.

The man was reported to have died on Sunday afternoon while under remand for drug-related offences at the Pengkalan Chepa police station.

Bukit Aman’s director of the integrity and standards compliance department, Azri Ahmad, said an autopsy found “no injuries or elements of crime”.

“The cause of death is water in the lungs. The incident has been classified as a sudden death,” he said in a statement today. — Free Malaysia Today
