PUTRAJAYA: National Recovery Council (MPN) chairman Muhyiddin Yassin has hit out at Putrajaya for being slow in taking up or implementing recommendations made by the MPN.
At a press conference, Muhyiddin said the council has submitted 95 recommendations for the Cabinet’s consideration till today, of which 69 wre for socio-economic issues and 26 were related to governance.
Of the 95, 86 of these recommendations have been approved by the government while nine were awaiting the Cabinet’s approval.
However, despite the approvals, the former prime minister said only 16 of the recommendations have been fully implemented, 30 were in the process of being executed, while 14 have yet to be implemented.
“I don’t want to point fingers at anyone. My purpose (in saying this) is so that everyone is aware that the nation is not in a good situation at this present time.
“While there are positive signs, these are just temporary before the country faces the looming global recession next year. If immediate action is not taken to address the current situation, the people will suffer,” he said. — Free Malaysia Today
