Muhyiddin dismisses Najib comparison, says he hasn’t been quiet in Johor

JOHOR BAHRU: Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Muhyiddin Yassin denies talk that he has been rather quiet on the Johor elections campaign trail compared to Najib Razak, saying he has been going to the ground frequently.

At a press conference after launching PN’s manifesto today, the Bersatu president said people should not compare him to the former prime minister who seemed to be more active in campaigning.

“What do you mean I’ve been quiet? Najib is talking nonsense. He’s a convict. How can you trust him? I speak on the basis of facts.

“I’m not quiet. I go to the ground, only you people (the media) do not report what I say,” he said.

He also maintained that PN’s campaign was not about him alone, pointing out that the coalition’s election machinery, campaign managers and candidates had been going to the ground daily.

He dismissed the comparisons some had drawn with Najib, saying it was “inaccurate”.

Asked if PN had identified its menteri besar candidate, Muhyiddin said it would be announced “at the right time”, adding that there were no issues over the matter. — Free Malaysia Today
