Malaysia's Most-Drawn 4D Numbers, Year by Year (2023–2026)
We crunched more than 88,000 winning 4D numbers from Magnum, Sports Toto, Da Ma Cai and four other operators since 2023. Here are the most — and least — drawn numbers each year, and the honest math on what it means for your next bet.

Every 4D player has a system. A birthday, a number plate, a dream decoded at 3am, a set of digits that simply feels due. So we did the one thing most punters never bother to do: instead of trusting a feeling, we counted. We pulled every winning 4D number drawn in Malaysia and Singapore since 1 January 2023 — 88,596 results across seven operators and nearly three and a half years — and asked a blunt question. Do some numbers really come up more than others?
The short answer is yes, a little. The longer answer is the most honest argument against "lucky numbers" you will ever read, because the way the hot numbers behave is exactly how pure randomness is supposed to behave. Here is what three and a half years of draws actually shows.
The single most-drawn number: 9811
Across the whole period, one number sits on top: 9811, drawn 28 times. But look how fast the field bunches up behind it:
1. 9811 — 28 draws
2. 3144 — 22
3. 4649 — 22
4. 0446 — 21
5. 2286 — 21
6. 3050 — 21
7. 0316 — 20
8. 2400 — 20
9. 9323 — 20
10. 0419 — 19
Twenty-eight sounds impressive until you see the average. Each of the 10,000 possible four-digit combinations came up 8.86 times on average, and the spread of the entire field — a standard deviation of almost exactly 3 — is precisely what you would expect if every draw were pure chance. In a pool of 10,000 numbers, a few will always run hot for no reason other than that somebody has to finish first. 9811 is that somebody. Treat it as a coincidence with a good publicist, not a tip.
A different "hottest" number every single year
This is where the lucky-number story quietly falls apart. If certain numbers were genuinely hot, the yearly leaders would tend to repeat. They don't. Every year crowns a completely different champion — and last year's winner vanishes back into the crowd.
2023: 2800 and 7089
Two numbers tied for the top with 11 draws each.
1. 2800 — 11
2. 7089 — 11
3. 0446 — 10
4. 2491 — 10
5. 5762 — 10
6. 6496 — 10
7. 8446 — 10
8. 0203 — 9
9. 1046 — 9
10. 1048 — 9
2024: 9811
The all-time leader had its big year — and even then it managed only 10, with seven different numbers sitting just one draw behind.
1. 9811 — 10
2. 0211 — 9
3. 0419 — 9
4. 0630 — 9
5. 1109 — 9
6. 1227 — 9
7. 1381 — 9
8. 2914 — 9
9. 2998 — 9
10. 6289 — 9
2025: 4805
A brand-new leader, and a nine-way logjam right behind it at 10 draws apiece.
1. 4805 — 11
2. 1469 — 10
3. 3050 — 10
4. 4649 — 10
5. 4980 — 10
6. 5304 — 10
7. 6161 — 10
8. 6309 — 10
9. 7377 — 10
10. 8657 — 10
2026 so far (to 31 May)
With five months counted, 3072 is out front.
1. 3072 — 8
2. 0430 — 7
3. 0462 — 7
4. 0483 — 7
5. 2269 — 7
6. 2669 — 7
7. 2810 — 7
8. 3505 — 7
9. 5808 — 7
10. 0237 — 6
Four years, four different winners — 2800 and 7089, then 9811, then 4805, then 3072 — and not one of them defends its crown. A number that tops the table one year is right back in the pack the next. That reshuffle is the signature of randomness, not of luck.
Every operator has its own "favourite" — and they all disagree
Split the data by operator and the same pattern repeats in miniature. Each of the seven has a single most-drawn number, and no two of them agree:
Singapore Pools — 6399 (9 draws)
Sarawak Cash Sweep — 9811 (8)
Sports Toto — 6502 (8)
Da Ma Cai — 1673 (7)
Magnum 4D — 2621 (7)
Sabah Lotto 88 — 5106 (7)
Sandakan Turf Club — 1860 (7)
Seven operators, seven different "lucky" numbers. If 9811 were truly special, it would not need a different alias at every counter.
The cold numbers nobody talks about
For balance, the other end of the table. Out of all 10,000 possible combinations, just 11 came up exactly once in three and a half years:
1229, 1621, 2064, 2706, 2803, 4357, 4488, 6335, 6948, 7764 and 9112.
Are these numbers "due"? No — that is the gambler's fallacy wearing a different shirt. A number that has been cold has exactly the same chance tonight as 9811: one in 10,000 on every draw, every time, forever. The draw machine has no memory of what it did last week.
Why none of this will win you anything
Here is the part the data makes unavoidable. Every four-digit number from 0000 to 9999 has an identical 1-in-10,000 chance on every single draw. Past frequency does not bend future odds by a hair. The field averaging 8.86 appearances with a spread of almost exactly 3 is not a pattern waiting to be exploited — it is the mathematical fingerprint of pure chance. The hot numbers, the cold numbers, the yearly champions that never repeat: all of it is noise dressed up as signal.
In fact, the only thing a "most-drawn number" analysis reliably predicts is that next year's most-drawn number will be one nobody is watching today.
How we counted
This analysis covers every published 4D draw from 1 January 2023 to 31 May 2026 — 88,596 winning numbers in total — across all seven operators we track: Magnum 4D, Sports Toto, Da Ma Cai, Sarawak Cash Sweep, Sabah Lotto 88, Sandakan Turf Club and Singapore Pools. Each draw contributes 23 winning numbers (first, second and third prize, plus 10 special and 10 consolation), and every category is counted equally. The figures come from the results archive at 4D Result Asia, which logs each operator's draw as it is published. Because 2026 is only counted to the end of May, its totals are naturally lower than the full years.
