PETALING JAYA: With most healthcare facilities operating at maximum capacity and some even overflowing, the health ministry is again pleading for volunteers to help fight Covid-19 in the country.
Health ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a Facebook posting that volunteers were needed to ease the burden of health workers throughout the country.
“The health ministry calls for medical volunteers to assist the ministry in managing the Covid-19 epidemic,” he said.
He said based on data from the ministry’s National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC), the medical volunteers needed by the ministry were medical and dental officers, medical assistants, nurses, environmental health assistant officers and medical laboratory technologists, among others.

Yesterday, the ministry reported another record high of 7,478 Covid-19 cases and 63 deaths in the past 24 hours.
The previous record high was 7,289 infections the day earlier, and 61 deaths on May 24. — Free Malaysia Today
