EAIC chief doesn’t know how police system works, says ex-IGP

PETALING JAYA: Former inspector-general of police Abdul Hamid Bador has expressed disappointment at the finding of the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) on the non-existence of a police cartel, which he had alleged in April last year.

Hamid claimed that EAIC chairman Sidek Hassan was not familiar with “the system” in the police force.

“He doesn’t really know how the system works … so sad. A retired soul tells no lies,” he told FMT.

The finding follows Hamid’s allegation on the “bad apple” cartel within the police force which he made before his retirement last year.

Sidek, in a statement yesterday, said the commission could not verify the existence of such a cartel.

The finding, based on witness testimony and documents, comes nine months after the investigation was launched last May.

In his last media conference as IGP in April last year, Hamid claimed that there was a police cartel of “bad apples” aiming to oust him for being vocal in exposing issues of misconduct, integrity and corruption within the force. — Free Malaysia Today
