SHAH ALAM: Outgoing PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil has warned party members not to reveal the party’s internal struggles to others, saying that he was upset that members are sharing the party’s WhatsApp conversations with outsiders.
In his last speech as the party’s communication director at the PKR congress this morning, Fahmi said he was also disappointed that some members lodged police reports and complaints to the Registrar of Societies (RoS) against PKR’s election committee for alleged fraud in the polls.
“To ensure that our team is strong, we have to unite and give our full support and trust to the new party leadership.
“However, the problem is that sometimes our members share screenshots of the party’s internal conversations with others. I would like to advise the party members not to do that.
“Do not give our enemies the ammunition (to attack us),” he said in an emotional speech.
Last month, actor-comedian Afdlin Shauki, who failed to win the division chief post in the PKR Setiawangsa polls, lodged a police report against the party’s election committee for allegedly failing to act on complaints.
Afdlin also claimed there was fraud during the polls.
There was also another member who lodged a report with the RoS claiming that she was sacked from PKR without her knowledge, thus depriving her of the opportunity to contest a division chief post in the party polls.
Fahmi reminded PKR not to be divided anymore after the congress ends, saying: “Once the congress is over, there will not be different teams. We will only have one PKR team,” he added.
The Lembah Pantai MP called for the party’s disciplinary board to be proactive and take action against those who slander the party.
“When we reach a decision, we have to defend it. What happened at the Melaka and Johor (state elections) must not be repeated?”
Outgoing Wanita chief Fuziah Salleh in her speech said those who had lodged complaints with the RoS against the party would be blacklisted.
She expressed frustration over certain party members exposing the party’s internal struggles to the public.
“Can’t you keep it within the party? Don’t you understand that this affects the party and its image?” she asked. — Free Malaysia Today
