6,210 Covid-19 cases, 7,562 recoveries

PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has reported 6,210 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
In a statement, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 7,562 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 2,303,583.
Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 2,413,592.
There were 677 patients in intensive care, 501 of whom were confirmed Covid-19 positive and 176 suspected of being infected.
Meanwhile, 319 patients required respiratory assistance, with 205 patients Covid-19 positive and the remaining 114 suspected of being positive.
There were 6,168 local infections today, involving 5,860 Malaysians and 308 foreigners, and 42 imported cases.
Noor Hisham said of the new infections, only 1.9% of patients were in Category 3, 4 or 5 at the time of diagnosis.
The country’s Covid-19 infectivity rate stood at 0.86, with Negeri Sembilan and Kuala Lumpur having the highest R-nought level of 1.00.
All other states recorded R-noughts of less than 1.00 while Labuan had an R-nought of zero. — Free Malaysia Today
