PETALING JAYA: The government has extended the deferment of National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loan repayments for three months to eligible borrowers.
Higher education minister Noraini Ahmad said the decision was taken as many PTPTN borrowers are still affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and are unable to make repayments.
“PTPTN will provide further details on how the extension of the loan repayment will be implemented,” she said in a statement today.
She said borrowers who needed the extension may apply for it on PTPTN’s website.Powered by Streamlyn
They may do so from June 10 until Aug 31. The extended moratorium will take effect from the date an application is approved.
Those with queries may contact the PTPTN Careline at 03-2193 3000 from Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm.
Before this, a moratorium on repayment was granted to all PTPTN borrowers from March 19 to Dec 31, 2020. — Free Malaysia Today
