KUALA LUMPUR: The flood situation in Johor, Melaka and Pahang continued to improve with the number of evacuees at relief centres dropping further this morning.
In Johor, the number of evacuees dropped to 2,298 at 8am from 2,935 yesterday evening.
Health and environment committee chairman R Vidyananthan said 35 relief centres were still open in four districts, with Muar registering the highest number at 873, followed by Segamat (734), Tangkak (610), and Batu Pahat (81).
In Pahang, only 66 evacuees from 15 families remained at the relief centre at SK Temai in Pekan. The meteorological department has forecast good weather in the district today.
In Melaka, 124 evacuees from 36 families were still at three relief centres in Jasin this morning. — Free Malaysia Today
