PETALING JAYA: Two construction workers fell to their death after a launcher crane at a highway construction site in Kuala Lumpur toppled over, crushing a car, this morning

The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said the driver of the car was seriously injured as steel from the crane crushed the vehicle.

The two workers were confirmed dead at the scene after falling from a height of about 36.5m. The department said its personnel were still trying to free another worker stuck on the scaffolding.

It said it received a distress call on the incident near Puncak Banyan, Persiaran Alam Damai, at 8.45am and sent 26 personnel to the scene.
