KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Hospitality Fiesta is a multifaceted event that serves various purposes, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Christina Liew said.

She said firstly, we celebrate not only the culinary delights that Sabah has to offer, but also the extraordinary talents and dedication that fuel the hospitality and F&B industries in this region.

“As the main sponsor of this remarkable gathering, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment is not merely providing support, but also investing in the collective growth and progress of these dynamic industries.

“We are proud to be a part of an event that contributes to the growth of Sabah’s hospitality sector. We recognise that the industry is a vital cornerstone of the region’s economy, and it plays a significant role in showcasing the warmth and authenticity that Sabah is known for,” she told a press conference, recently.

The text of Liew’s speech was read by the Sabah Tourism Board Chief Executive Officer Noredah Othman.

Secondly, given Sabah’s rich cultural heritage and breathtaking landscapes, the Minister said the Sabah Hospitality Fiesta encapsulates the essence of Sabah’s hospitality – warm, diverse, and always ready to welcome guests with open arms.

“Hence, it is a celebration of flavours, cultures, and the shared experiences that make Sabah a unique and enchanting place. From the culinary masters who craft masterpieces on a plate, to the hospitality professionals who ensure each guest feels at home, your dedication is what makes this event possible, and your efforts shape the identity of Sabah’s hospitality and F&B sectors,” Liew said.
